Kathmandu : The Commission of Investigation on Enforced Disappeared Persons has stepped up its preparation to carry out extensive investigation into those who were enforced disappeared and to exhume the dead bodies of those killed during the armed conflict.
The CEIDP has already undertaken a preliminary study on the disappeared persons by collecting complaints of conflict survivors. The Commission is planning to make preparation for wider investigation by discussing with the representatives of organizations working on the issues of enforced disappeared persons.
CEIDP Spokesperson Prof Dr Bishnu Pathak shared that preparation is underway to exhume the dead bodies of those killed and disappeared as part of the investigation process. The investigative process will move ahead being based on the complaints collected from their relatives, he added.
The Co0mmission is also making preparations to impart training to different teams which are assigned to undertake wider investigation in all five development regions.
