Six banks to invest in Solukhola hydel project



Kathmandu, Jan 30: Six banks and financial institutions have agreed to invest in the Upper Solukhola hydel project.
A loan agreement was signed between the project promoter Beni Khola Power Project and Bank at a function organised here today. On behalf of the Banks, CEO of NMB Bank Upendra Poudel and the Project Chair PB Sherpa signed the agreement.
The banks are investing Rs. 2.28 billion in the 18 MW project that is estimated to cost Rs. 3.26 billion. Other banks investing in the project are Nepal Bangladesh Bank, Siddhartha Development Bank, Vibor Development Bank and the Hydropower Investment and Development Company Limited.
The project is based in Benima VDC of Solukhumbu district. The project is expected to become into operation by Magh 1, 2076 B.S.
