Enforcement of constitution to end all kinds of discrimination: PM Dahal
Kathmandu, April 6, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said effective and early implementation of constitution was essential to end all kinds of discrimination against women.
During the silver jubilee celebration of the Maiti Nepal here Thursday, PM Dahal said there was no option but to implement the constitution which has ensured the rights of women, Dalit, Muslim and all backward communities.
The May 14 election would ensure representation of women in the very lower level of State, which makes the democracy more functional, according to him.
The PM informed that the government was preparing a new plan to fully eradicate the girl trafficking.
On the occasion, Joint Secretary at Ministry of Women, Children and Social Welfare, Radhika Aryal, said government alone could not stop the girl trafficking, so cooperative efforts were needed.
Maiti Nepal Chairperson Anuradha Koirala informed that her organization has been continuously advocating for the formulation and implementation of laws against violence against women since its inception. RSS
