NC leader Poudel urges Madhesi Morcha to participate in elections

Biratnagar, April 18, Nepali Congress leader Ram Chandra Poudel has said that environment conducive for election has been created in the country.
Talking to media persons at Biratnagar Airport on Tuesday, leader Poudel clarified that the NC was in favour of holding the local-level elections in a single phase by taking all together as the election fever has gripped the country.
He argued that the election date should not be postponed in any pretext, saying the country failed to take momentum following the long gap of local-level elections.
Leader Poudel urged the Madhesi Morcha to participate in the election, adding, “Agitation does not resolve problems. The Madhesi Morcha should participate in the election acknowledging the people’s sentiments as people have wanted election.”
Similarly, General Secretary Shashanka Koirala expressed the possibility that the elections could be postponed for 10 days if Madhesi Morcha participates in it.
Stressing that the Madhesi Morcha should be brought on board the election to make the local-level election meaningful, he said the election should be held in a single phase as per the sentiments of the people.
Leader Koirala expressed the view that although it is short period to hold three tiers of elections on time, it would be successful if political parties have willpower for the same.
