Maitri News (मैत्री न्युज) — https://maitrinews.com
Effective date: 23 October 2026 | Last updated: 23 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Maitri News (“Maitri News”, “we”, “us” or “our”), operated by Zeal Media and IT Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Kathmandu, Nepal (Department of Information and Broadcasting registration no. 923/075/76), collects, uses, stores, shares and deletes information when you visit https://maitrinews.com (the “Website”), watch videos we publish, or use any feature of the Website that relies on YouTube API Services.
By using the Website you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website.
1. Use of YouTube API Services
Maitri News uses YouTube API Services to display, embed and list videos from our YouTube channel (and other public YouTube videos) on the Website.
By viewing or interacting with YouTube content on the Website, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service.
Google’s handling of your information is governed by the Google Privacy Policy (http://www.google.com/policies/privacy).
1.1 What YouTube data we access
Through YouTube API Services we access only public information about videos and channels, such as:
- Video IDs, titles, descriptions, thumbnails, publish dates and durations;
- Channel name, channel ID and channel thumbnail;
- Public statistics such as view counts.
We do not ask you to sign in with your Google or YouTube account, and we do not access, collect or store your private YouTube account data (such as your subscriptions, playlists, watch history, comments, or email address). If we ever introduce a feature that requires you to authorise access to your YouTube account, we will request your explicit consent first and update this policy before doing so.
1.2 How we use, store and share YouTube data
- Use: Public video and channel data is used only to show videos and video listings on the Website.
- Storage: We may temporarily cache public YouTube data (for example, video titles and thumbnails) to make pages load faster. Cached data is refreshed or deleted within 30 days, in line with the YouTube API Services Developer Policies.
- Sharing: We do not sell, rent or share YouTube API data with any third party, internally or externally, other than displaying it on the Website. We do not combine it with other data to build user profiles.
1.3 Cookies and third-party content from YouTube
When you play an embedded YouTube video, YouTube/Google may place and read cookies on your browser, or use similar technologies such as device identifiers, and may serve content and advertising. This is controlled by Google, not Maitri News. Where possible we use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), which does not set YouTube cookies until you start playing a video. See the Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses cookies for details.
1.4 Revoking access
If you have ever granted any application access to your Google or YouTube account, you can review and revoke that access at any time through the Google security settings page: https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions.
If you revoke access, or ask us to delete data, we will delete any associated data we hold within 7 days (see Section 7).
