Preparations underway in Pokhara to welcome Indian President

Pokhara : In the light of Indian President Pranab Mukherjee’s scheduled visit to Nepal, a meeting was held in Pokhara on Tuesday to make preparation for his welcome.

Mukherjee is scheduled to visit Nepal from November 2 to 4. The meeting was held to prepare and make the Indian President’s visit successful as he, during his Nepal visit, is also slated to tour Pokhara, said the meeting attendants.

Likewise, a main management assistance committee has also been formed under the coordination of Regional Administrator of Western Region Khagraj Baral for the same purpose.

Under this committee, other committees like construction and sanitation, reception management, construction and infrastructure and publicity have also been formed.

During his Nepal visit, Indian President Mukherjee is scheduled to land in Pokhara on November 4 at 12:45 pm via an aircraft of Buddha Air.

Thereafter, he is scheduled to go directly to Pokhara Grande Hotel for lunch and to go to the Indian Pension Camp at Rambazaar at 3:00 pm the same day to address the gathering of former Indian Armies, informed Regional Administrator Baral.

President Mukherjee is to return Kathmandu on the same day after addressing the gathering of ex-Indian army.

Security arrangement has been made smooth in Pokhara in view of President Mukherjee’s visit. Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and National Investigation Department have taken the responsibility of the security.

Welcome gates would be built from Hotel Grande to Indian Pension Camp at Rambazaar. Nepal and India’s flags would be waved at streets to welcome the Indian President.

Likewise, various cultural activities would be performed and musical instruments would be played to welcome him.
