Kathmandu, Feb 28: The Ministry of Women, Children and Social Welfare will be launching the President Woman Empowerment Programme on March 6 from Kapilvastu.
The programme aims to provide skills to the women folks of the income generating demographic and link them to productivity, market and employment schemes.
Ministry’s Secretary, Bishnu Prasad Lamsal, said the violence against women (VAW) can be eliminated by empowering the women on economic front.
President Bidya Devi Bhandari is set to launch the programme, which will generate employment for around 4,000 women annually. It will benefit 20,000 women in five years.
The Ministry also plans to establish at least one elderly – friendly home and a children’s park in every provincial state.
