Nepal-China joint military drill
Kathmandu, April 13: Nepali Army and the People’s Liberation Army of China are holding a joint military drill for the first time in Kathmandu from coming April 16 to 25.
Dubbed ‘Sagarmatha Frienship-’17’ the joint exercise is being organised between the armies of the two neighbours considering possible security challenge as a result of the terrorism, that is coming across as the serious security challenge around the globe, the Nepali Army has said. The 10-day military drill with the PLA of China is the first of its kind in course of holding joint military drill with the armies of friendly nations, according to the NA Directorate of Public Relations.

Nepali Army has been organising bilateral and multi-lateral training, seminars and drills in course of expanding its military relations based on Nepal’s foreign and security police. Matters of common interest and concern including in disaster management would also be discussed during the training.
Military and diplomatic relations is expected to further strengthen and expand while also increasing the military knowledge and professional ability through the drill, the NA has said.
