Death toll in Kagbeni road accident climbs to five

 

Mustang, April 22, The death toll in Kagbeni road accident has risen to five.
A bus (Na 5 Kha 6067) carrying pilgrims to Muktinath met with an accident at Barhagaun Muktichhetra-4 in Mustang on Saturday noon when returning from the famous Temple in Mustang, killing five and injuring 30 others, four of them seriously.
Three of the deceased died on the spot while two others breathed their last on the way to the District Hospital, police said. The ill-fated bus was crammed with 35 passengers beyond the capacity of carrying 26.
The dead have been identified as Bhola Adhikari, 58, of Subidhanagar in Kathmandu, Purushottam Dhakal, 42, of Koteshwor in Kathmandu, Lila Khadka, 55, of Mahalaxmi Municipality-2 in Lalitpur, Sita Timilsina of Chagunarayan-8 in Bhaktapur and Kranti Khadka of Kageshwori-3.
The dead bodies have been taken to the District Public Health Office (DPHO), Mustang said Deputy Superintendent of Police Harihar Yogi. Of the injured who were receiving treatment at the DPHO, preparations were underway to airlift seriously injured to Pokhara, said Yogi.
