UML frustrates constitution amendment bill: Chairman Oli

Butwal (Rupandehi): CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli said the UML would not let the passage of constitution amendment bill, terming it unconstitutional and against the national interest.
“The bill cannot be discussed in Parliament as it is unconstitutional,” he said while speaking at a programme organised at Devdaha in memory of the late Chairman of the UML aligned Rupandehi Youth Association Nepal, Durga Tiwari, by the joint struggling committee against the constitution amendment to split Province 5.
He also accused the government of weakening national unity by violating the constitution and prolonging political transition. He also demanded impartial investigation into the murder of Tiwari and book the culprit.
On the occasion, UML Vice-General Secretary Bishnu Prasad Poudel warned that people would take to the streets if the government fails to show its seriousness to arrest the murders of Tiwari. UML Vice General Secretary Ghana Shyam Bhusal remembered Tiwari as a patriot and people’s leader.
